Black Lives Matter

I know that many people have written, discussed, posted, and hashtagged about the phrase Black Lives Matter, but I want focus us giving attention to the subject beyond it being trendy. It would be phenomenal to carry this momentum of fighting against injustice until real change is achieved. We’ve witnessed so many Black lives being taken away without any justice being served for those that commit the sins against humanity. The true fight is to battle those that don’t see us as equal human being in the country that is supposed to be built for diversity. The use of All Lives Matter is insulting in that very sense that it pretends Black people aren’t being murdered in higher volumes as opposed to our races and ethnicities. It is also downright wrong to bring up the fact that “Black-on-Black crime” kills tons of Blacks as well. By making either point a person makes little of the true happening that law enforcement officers are wrongfully committing murders to certain citizens simply because of the color of their skin. We have yet to see any of these officers brought to justice, which gives a green light to the next cop that decides to take a black life. This is not a call out for violence against the police, but is an effort to expose the crooked ones and have them brought to justice. We are unable to fill at home in a land that doesn’t exercise the same laws when we’re murder as opposed to others. If you want us to feel equal then it is time to treat us fairly when dealing with a system that was built to oppress us. Until that day comes we will continue to stress that Black lives matter in a nation that doesn’t see us as worthy of being considered full fledged human beings.

  1. Being African American. I am saddened by all the issues going on in our society right now. I too am trying to address this on my blog. I want to open peoples eyes and also try and provide solutions. I applaud you for also making people aware of the issue.

  2. Thank you! I think all of us that have the ability to speak out to any audience (regardless of size) should use our words to shed light on the toughest issues plaguing the Black community. My hat is off to you as well for taking the opportunity to do the same with your messages as well.
